Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, list a trip or service, make a booking, complete a payment, or communicate with other users through the Platform.

Account information: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, profile photo, bio, and credentials you choose to provide (guide licenses, certifications, social links).

Booking and transaction information: trip bookings, payment history, cancellations, disputes, and related correspondence. Payment data is processed by Stripe; WildTag does not store full card numbers.

Identity and verification information: for outfitters and guides, we may collect government-issued ID documents, insurance certificates, business registration, and licensing documents for verification purposes.

Usage information: pages viewed, features used, search queries, links clicked, and time spent on the Platform. We use this to improve the service.

Device and technical information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and referring URLs, collected automatically when you access the Platform.

Communications: messages sent through the Platform's messaging system, reviews and ratings you submit, and any correspondence with our support team.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the WildTag Platform, including to process bookings, facilitate payments, connect hunters with outfitters and guides, and display trip listings and profiles.

We use your information to verify the identities and credentials of outfitters and guides, detect and prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.

We send transactional communications (booking confirmations, payment receipts, trip reminders, dispute updates) and, with your consent, marketing communications about new features, promotions, and relevant content.

We use aggregated and anonymized data to analyze Platform usage, improve our products, and generate industry insights. This data cannot be used to identify individual users.

We may use your information to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests from law enforcement, and protect the rights and safety of WildTag and its users.

3.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With outfitters and guides: when you complete a booking, your name, contact information, and booking details are shared with the outfitter and/or guide for the purpose of fulfilling your trip.

With payment processors: payment data is shared with Stripe to process transactions. Stripe's use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy.

With service providers: we share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the Platform — including identity verification services, cloud storage providers, email delivery services, and analytics tools. All service providers are bound by data processing agreements.

For legal compliance: we may disclose your information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

In connection with business transfers: if WildTag is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

4.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, analyze usage patterns, and deliver relevant content.

Essential cookies: required for the Platform to function. They enable login sessions, payment security, and core navigation. Cannot be disabled.

Analytics cookies: we use tools such as Google Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.

Preference cookies: store your settings (language, notification preferences, filter defaults) so you don't have to reset them each visit.

You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Disabling non-essential cookies may affect Platform functionality. We also honor browser-level Do Not Track signals where technically feasible.

5.

Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. We honor these rights regardless of jurisdiction.

Right to access: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time.

Right to correction: you may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information about you.

Right to deletion: you may request deletion of your personal information. We will honor this request unless we are required to retain the data for legal or contractual reasons.

Right to portability: you may request your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Right to opt out of sale: WildTag does not sell personal information. California residents may still submit a "Do Not Sell" request via our Privacy Settings.

Right to restrict processing: you may ask us to stop processing your information in certain circumstances.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@wildtag.com. We will respond within 30 days (45 days for complex requests). We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

6.

Security

WildTag takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards including TLS/SSL encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest for sensitive fields, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis, and regular security audits.

Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. WildTag never transmits or stores raw card numbers.

Despite our efforts, no transmission over the internet or electronic storage system is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@wildtag.com.

7.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Platform services. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, financial, or dispute resolution purposes.

Booking and payment records are retained for 7 years to comply with financial reporting requirements. Review and rating data associated with completed trips is retained as part of the Platform's trust infrastructure and may remain visible even after account closure.

You may request early deletion of your data by contacting privacy@wildtag.com, subject to the legal retention requirements above.

8.

Children's Privacy

The WildTag Platform is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 18, please contact us immediately at privacy@wildtag.com and we will promptly delete that information.

Users who wish to book trips for minor family members must be the account holder and are responsible for ensuring the minor's participation complies with all applicable laws, outfitter requirements, and waiver obligations.
